Early this year, we did a fun-inspired match making of some Nigerian celebrities who would suit the major casts in the ongoing American TV Series, Empire
Davido made the list, passing as a good match for the rebellious, pompous but talented son of Lucious Lyon, Hakeem Lyon, played by 22-year old Bryshere Y. Gray.
Well, our match making is about to come to pass as Davido has proposed to his fictional mother ‘Cookie,’ to bring him into the musical TV series next season.
The drama queen of the show, Cookie Lyon as played by Taraji P. Henson, posted her love for world music, which happened to be Davido’s latest single, “How Long”, featuring American singer Tinashe.
She posted the track on her Instagram page with the caption: Anybody who knows me know I love music, especially world music. Thank you @Tymwallacehair for turning me on to another hater.

Davido did not hesitate to acknowledge Taraji’s post on Instagram, asking her for a chance to bring “that African heat” to an episode of the show.
“Big ups @TherealTaraji… LET ME BRING THAT AFRICAN HEAT TO EMPIRE!! ONE EPISODE IS COOL FOR ME LOL,” he wrote.
In previous episodes of the family drama, several American artistes have had guest appearances, from Grammy award winner, Alicia Keys to Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, Neyo, Naomi Campbell, Vivica Fox, Kelly Rowland, etc.
Featuring Davido, or any other Nigerian artistes might just be what the show needs to penetrate Africa in the third season, more than it already has.
Empire is a Fox-TV family drama focused on a former drug dealer cum business mogul and CEO of Empire Entertainment, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and his family. The TV series portrays strong emotions of love, power, and fame.
