Terrible news… Unfortunately, we are not talking about the game (Borussia Dortmund x Mônaco) that did not happen, but why the day of the game changed. Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League quarter-final with Monaco was postponed after the Dortmund team bus was damaged by an explosion.
The German team confirmed that defender Marc Bartra was injured in an incident near their hotel but said there was “no danger inside the stadium”.
The match will now be played at Dortmund’s Westfalenstadion at 17:45 BST on Wednesday.
Police confirmed there had been three explosions in the area of the team bus.
Dortmund tweeted that: “A bomb exploded at the team bus next to the hotel.
“The players are safe. There is no danger at the stadium.”
Former Barcelona centre-back Bartra was sent to hospital for treatment, with windows broken on the bus.
We see amazing things with football. We make friends, we find new things. But, what happened in Dortmund is part of the horrible things that we have to say, is not part of this sport. The Dortmund bus sufer an attack with 3 bombs. Thank God the members of the club are fine, the only that was hit was Marc Bartra. He was designed to do a cirgury on his pulse but he’s also fine by the moment.
We wish you the best Bartra, we hope you get well soon. And we also hope this won’t happen again. ⚪⚽⚪
