That is some pay package! As Lewis Hamilton is expecting to put pen to paper on a new Mercedes contract next month after achieving his fourth world title last weekend at the Mexico GP.
Hamilton, 32, has a current three-year deal in place, but it expires in 2018. A lucrative new deal is expected to be confirmed by Mercedes and could be worth around £40 million-a-year, which would make it the biggest salary ever in British F1.
The deal is expected to be another three-year contract worth an estimated £120 million in total, £20 million more than the current deal, according to the Standard. He would be only the third F1 driver to have his place and team confirmed for next season.
